The Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg calendar commemorates the service of Lt. William Fisher, killed in the Battle of Gettysburg. Using photographs of acquisition items and excerpts from family letters, JPD took readers on a dynamic, year-long journey which chronicled Fisher's death and the attempts by the family to deal with their profound loss. The calendar was offered as part of a membership direct mail drive. They also offered the calendar for sale. The calendar was received so well they required a reprint and membership soared.
